SKIN OF OUR TEETH Written by Thorton Wilder Directed by Bev Newcomb-Madden The Antrobus Family has seen it all: war, plague, ice age, flood and even more war. This three act classic written by the same author who revolutionized American Theater with Our Town, shows the resiliency of the human race as it faces over and over again disasters both natural and man made. *Four out of four stars by the Denver Post* April 10 - May 10 2009
Escanaba in Love Written by Jeff Daniels Directed by Bob Wells September 12 - October 12 Escanaba In Love, Jeff Daniels’ new play, brings a touching, romantic comedy element to the rugged hunter-humor of Michigan’s favorite yooper family. As deer hunting season arrives, the Soady men meet their biggest challenge; not a great buck, or a hunter’s dream, but the camp’s first female visitor, young Albert Soady Jr’s bride: Big Betty Balou. Daniels’ hilarious humor kicks into high gear when the Soady men make their best attempts to grapple with their newest family member. |
THE CRUCIBLE Written by Arthur Miller Directed by A. Lee Massaro Arthur Miller’s Tony Award®-winning classic, The Crucible, a gripping historically based drama, is also a chilling parable of modern society. Set during the Salem witch trials, the story focuses on a young farmer, his wife and a teenage servant-girl who maliciously accuses the wife of witchcraft. This spark of vengeance ignites a raging fire of bigotry and paranoia which threatens to consume the entire community. The Crucible examines the dangers that result when people believe that they possess the absolute truth.
